A few words about me

Three years ago, I was an enthusiastic high school English teacher seeking to combine academic instruction with interactive technology. But finding the time to gain EdTech expertise while managing a full course load was challenging. So, I took a break from the classroom in 2018 and studied Instructional Systems Design at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. After earning an ISD certificate, I found work in the private sector designing courses in business writing, computer skills, and soft skills.

This past May, I passed the Adobe Captivate Specialist exam, and I currently use this application to design short videos featuring knowledge checks and scenario-based learning. Incorporating video helps my courses reach a wider audience. The acquisition of these skills has fed my hunger to return to the nonprofit sector where I can make a positive impact: helping teachers meet the challenges of online instruction and supporting students during their formative years. Today, I design, develop, and deliver business training. Tomorrow, I will bring my EdTech knowledge to the classroom, whether it be a face-to-face or virtual one.

I look forward to helping teachers explore the power of remote learning and the free, customizable, and user-friendly tools that energize contemporary instruction.
